Chatterbox is Resemble AI's MIT-licensed model and the most expressive engine in the free tier — it pushes emphasis further than the others, which suits short punchy material and tires the ear on long reads. It takes up to 500 characters per request, adjusts from 0.75× to 1.5×, and returns MP3 or WAV. Longer text is split at sentence boundaries and joined back into one file.
