Miles is relaxed and conversational — an American male voice that sounds like someone talking rather than reading. He is well suited to community and casual contexts, and less so to formal material, where his ease can read as insufficiently serious.
The engine behind this voice
Zonos is Zyphra's open-weights model (Apache-2.0) in its hybrid state-space configuration: a clean, neutral reader, which is what utility audio wants. It takes up to 400 characters per request, adjusts from 0.75× to 1.5×, and returns MP3 or WAV. Longer text is split at sentence boundaries and joined back into one file.
