Speech studio
34 voices · 18 languages
Create a clear greeting for your business, your own phone or a temporary closure. Personalize a script, hear it with a free AI voice, then download MP3 or WAV for a phone system that accepts file uploads. No microphone or sign-up is required for free voices within the daily allowance.
How it works
From your details to a greeting file
- 1
Choose a situation and fill in the details
Start with business, personal, holiday, after-hours or out-of-office. Add a name, opening hours or return date where relevant. Create the script locally.
- 2
Edit the words and hear a free voice
Check names, dates and contact details. Hear the draft with Bella, or open the generator to choose another voice and the output format.
- 3
Download and install it with your phone provider
Generate the audio, then save MP3 or WAV. Check your phone system’s upload requirements before replacing the existing greeting, and call your number to test it.

Examples
Hear a business voice before making your greeting
Every clip below was generated here on the free tier — no account, no credits. Play one to hear the voice on that kind of writing, or load the script into the generator and make your own version of it.
Phone greeting
IVR or voicemail line — the classic use for a consistent voice.
“Thank you for calling Northgate Supply. Our team is available Monday to Friday, eight until six. For an existing order, press one. For everything else, stay on the line and someone will be with you shortly.”
Product ad
Thirty seconds of ad copy, the hardest thing to read naturally.
“You already own the shoes. That's the annoying part. They're at the back of the cupboard, they still fit, and the only thing standing between you and Saturday morning is the fifteen minutes it takes to find them. We can't help with that. But everything after it, we can.”
YouTube intro
Opens a video without the "hey guys, welcome back" throat-clearing.
“Three years ago, this cost four thousand dollars and a studio. Today it costs nothing and takes about a minute. In this video I'll show you exactly how — no jargon, no upsell, and every step is one you can copy while you watch.”
Included
What you get
- Details that fit the situation
- Business name, personal name, hours, return date and an alternative contact instruction appear where relevant. Optional fields may be left empty.
- A script you can edit
- Change the wording before sending it to the voice service. Rebuilding a template is a separate action, so details do not overwrite your draft unexpectedly.
- A real voice and download
- The voicemail greeting generator uses the site’s existing speech engine, with playback and download after generation. It does not install a phone greeting for you.
- Free allowance, clearly stated
- 20,000 characters a day as a guest; 40,000 with a free account. Script preparation itself has no character quota.
One voicemail greeting generator, five everyday situations
A business greeting confirms the caller has reached the right company before asking for a message. A personal greeting can use your first name and a shorter explanation. After-hours messages add opening hours; holiday and out-of-office messages can add a return date. Optional details stay out of the script when you leave them blank, so there are no unfinished bracketed placeholders to record by mistake.
Create the script, then read it once before generating. Spell out ambiguous dates, add a time zone to opening hours and check the pronunciation of names. The alternative-contact field expects an instruction such as “email hello at willow dot example”. It does not validate an address or promise that someone is monitoring it.
Turn your greeting script into a real audio file
The form writes with templates rather than an AI writing service. You can replace every sentence in the editable script. Changes to the details above do not silently overwrite your edits; use Rebuild script when you want a fresh version. The word count and estimated duration help you shorten a long greeting before making audio.
Hear greeting uses Bella, a free catalog voice, and starts speech generation. Choose voice and format loads the text without starting a job, so you can compare voices and select a supported output format first. The generator stays out of the way until you use one of those buttons or a script example. After generation, listen to the finished recording and use its download button. If a name sounds wrong, edit the spelling or punctuation and generate again.
MP3, WAV and your phone system’s requirements
MP3 is compact; WAV can preserve uncompressed audio when the selected engine supports it. Neither extension guarantees compatibility with every phone system. If your administrator asks for 8 kHz mono PCM, compare that exact specification with the finished file and convert it separately if needed. This voicemail greeting generator does not perform that conversion or offer a μ-law preset.
Zoho Voice documents MP3 and WAV uploads for voicemail greetings. Quo documents MP3 and WAV uploads for its auto attendant. Treat these as examples of upload-capable services, not a promise about every feature, carrier or plan. Keep a copy of the old recording, upload the replacement through your provider, then call from another phone and listen through the entire greeting.
| Where it is going | What to check first |
|---|---|
| Business service with file upload | Accepted extension, encoding, channels, sample rate, size and duration limits. |
| System asking for mono 8 kHz WAV | Convert separately to the exact specification. This tool’s WAV option is not a telephony preset. |
| Native mobile voicemail screen | Whether it supports file upload at all. A Record button alone is not an upload option. |
Provider instructions: Zoho Voice greetings and Quo auto attendant.
