About the Josh voice
Josh is a deep, narration-first male voice — the closest thing here to a professional voiceover artist, with the low register and controlled pace that trailer and documentary work assumes. He is deliberate, and on short punchy copy that deliberateness works against him.
The engine behind this voice
ElevenLabs Multilingual v2 is the reference point the industry is measured against, and what it buys is consistency under scrutiny — it does not fall apart on a difficult sentence. This endpoint accepts only text and voice, silently discarding format and speed, so both controls are hidden here rather than offered and ignored. It takes up to 5,000 characters per request and reads at a fixed pace. Longer text is split at sentence boundaries and joined back into one file.
